2012 in Review

January: My 4th nephew Jett Michael Aurich was born on January 12th. We spent lots of time cuddling with him and loving all his long black hair.

February: College is all about spur of the moment road trips and February was no exception. It was the Friday before a 3 day weekend (President's Day) and I got a phone call from three different people asking if I wanted to go on their road trip (St. George, Vegas, St. George). With a little compromising I decided on St. George with the girls and met up with a group of boys from high school. Such a fun weekend!

March: One of my very best friends Scyler is a pilot in the UVU aviation program and let my family come down for a tour of the UVU airport. My nephew Kayden loved his "appies" and we had a great time!

April: In April I finished my last UVU Education Field Experience in a 3rd grade classroom at Herriman Elementary. To celebrate that accomplishment as well as get away for Spring Break, me, Ashley and Derek roady tripeed to Disneyland! Each day went like this: wake up, hotel breakfast, walk to Disneyland/California sight seeing, nap at 2, back to Disneyland at 4, home at 10, dinner in bed and fall asleep. Bliss. :)

May: In May I applied for an internship as a teacher at Herriman Elementary and got it!! I found out the great news as I was literally moving back to Provo for the summer. Since I would be moving home a short month later I decided to live up the summer as best as I could! Each day was spent laying out at the pool, hiking in the mountains, and taking fun trips to St. George with my friends.

June: In June Scyler helped me check off one of my goals: ride in a small airplane. Scy took my dad and I up in the air across the southern part of Utah County. I have never felt so sick in my life...haha The entire trip I was sick in a cold sweat and just kept asking to turn around. I wanted to be a good sport for my dad though, so I endured the awful feeling and we were up in the air for about an hour and a half. Although I never want to fly like that again, I'm glad that I did. :)

July: I began my first year of teaching on July 15th in a 2nd grade classroom!!! It was the craziest day and I was so nervous leading up to it. The first week was a blur, but I was so surprised how much I already loved my job and my 20 kiddos.

August: My friend Tony and his family bought a cabin in Bear Lake and wanted all the friends to come up for a weekend! We spent our days out on the lake, rented wave runners, ate shakes, watched the meteor shower, and hot tubbed. It was a really great weekend!

September: In September I went on a very spontaneous trip to Lake Powell with Chantel and her extended family. It was a ton of fun and my first time ever going to Powell! We were only there for a short amount of time, but had we had fun!

October: October was probably one of my favorite months this year because it's when I started dating Jeremiah. :) It was a Tuesday night when Miah came over to say hi after his mission. I screamed. I hugged him. My mom screamed. My mom hugged him. We were so excited to see that one of my long time friends had made it safely home from Mexico. We spent the night catching up on the past 2 years and at the end of the night he asked me to go on a date with him 2 days later. Ever since that 1st date we have kept on dating. Who would have ever thought that something like this could happen? I can tell you that at least once a week I look at him and think, "Wait really? Is this really happening? I like Jeremiah and he's my boyfriend?" Then I smile and say to myself, "Yep, and I wouldn't want it any other way. :)"

November: When I think of November I think of fun double dates with friends, our first kiss, my family, Thanksgiving, and more dating. November was the "solidify" month where Miah and I could tell that what we had was something we wanted to continue.

December: I was lucky to have the entire month of December off of school. I spent my days shopping with my mom, celebrating Christmas with friends, lots of dates to look at Christmas lights,  and a fun trip to Denver with my sister.

2012 was a really fun year and definitely a major life changing one as well. I am so grateful for all of the experiences that I had and most of all for my crazy photography obsession because I have hundreds of photos to look back on and smile at. :) Cheers to 2013!
